APA Hotel Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: 3-2-3 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Fumiko Motoya) has completed the acquisition of the Hilton Seattle in Seattle, Washington, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, APA Hotel USA, Inc. (Delaware). This property marks the APA Group’s first owned hotel in the United States; it has been renamed “Coast Seattle Downtown Hotel by APA” (256 rooms) and will be managed by Coast Hotels USA, Inc.
As part of its global expansion strategy, the APA Group opened its first overseas franchise location, “APA HOTEL WOODBRIDGE,” in Iselin, New Jersey, in November 2015, and acquired Coast Hotels Ltd.—headquartered in Vancouver, Canada—in September of the following year. Moving forward, the Group intends to strengthen its business foundation in North America, centering on Coast Hotels, while continuing to explore various other opportunities.
